I am a huge fan of exploring new & pretty places in the UK, whether it's a beautiful National Trust or stately home near where you live, or having a good old explore when away for the weekend or on a staycation. I believe the UK has some of the prettiest places to visit, especially the little towns and villages with quaintness in abundance. You don't usually have to travel far to be in a stunning rural setting filled with history.
I love all the old buildings, cobbled streets, stately homes, old brick walls and of course, the beautiful gardens and countryside that often comes with it. I love to take it all in, take some photos and have a wander, and it also inspires me for Vintage Amy. The colours, textures, flowers, peeling paint, old bricks, weathered wood... they all provide inspiration for my styling. Here are some of the beautiful places I have been lucky enough to recently visit...
I love to scout out old places in lovely English towns, either cute cafes, gorgeous garden centres & nurseries or amazing antique & vintage shops. Above is the Courtyard at Closet & Botts in Lewes, which is one of my favourite shops and you must pay a visit if ever you are in the quaint East Sussex town. It is full of beautifully chosen vintage pieces and homeware & lifestyle pieces that will make you want to splurge away. This is the courtyard out the back of the shop, full of old rusty pieces and this magical 'secret garden' door. The colours and textures here have given me inspiration for my next wedding shoot, so keep your eyes peeled!
So that was a lot of pictures! Did you take a look at the captions to see where I've visited and how it inspires me? In most of these pictures I can just imagine a bride standing there, or lazing on one of my vintage armchairs against the old walls or in the countryside. I get so much inspiration from these beautiful British places, and it is just lovely to wander around them and take it all in, relaxing and gazing.
What about you, where do you visit in the UK that inspires you? Any gems I should know about!? Or perhaps you're a bride-to-be that is getting married in a beautiful old building or town, and you can imagine my vintage props styled at your wedding. I offer a range of services, from styling on-the-day only to fully designing your entire venue styling and working with you from the very beginning. Or don't forget my vast prop cupboard full of vintage treasure and furniture available to hire for your big day. Get in touch here!
