I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm not a fan of plonking a cake in the middle of a creased-cloth bog-standard table at a wedding. For lots of people, a wedding cake is a very important part of the day. You have probably spent a fair bit of your wedding budget on it and your cake designer would have lovingly spent hours on it, designing it and crafting away to get it just perfect for you and your guests. So this week here are three alternative ways of displaying your beautiful wedding cake, and maybe some desserts to. You and your wedding guests will love these...
An Elegant & Romantic Dessert Dresser
This is my favourite dessert dresser I have created to date. I just love the colours, and how by adding simple touches like stunning complimentary china and glassware, you are instantly uplifting the look. I also love the romance. With cakes and desserts this exquisite, they deserve the best. So I proudly displayed them here on my bright white vintage dresser, filling the drawer with flowers to add a wow factor. Your wedding guests will be wowed to be greeted by a dessert table like this, and it is an easy way to add a unique element to your wedding day.
A Unique & Pretty Vintage Dessert Cupboard
I love to take a piece of vintage furniture and repurpose it and style it up for a wedding that may not have been done before. So I decided to use my little vintage cabinet here as a dessert cupboard - why not hey!? With lovely, delicate and handmade delicacies from MonAnnie Cakes, this is definitely a step away from your cake on a trestle table. Little mini trifles and handmade chocolates will be such a treat for your guests, and I've displayed everything here using lots of brass details. Think about the other details to add to your wedding dessert table styling, like the flowers and some candles, and choose complimentary decor that works within your whole wedding design.
An Alternative Cake Stand
When lovely Louise asked to use my vintage stool as a cake table for a couple of her styled wedding shoots, I jumped at the chance. I think it's such a good idea and a really unique alternative to a cake stand on a round table. Your guests would just love this, and I love how the stool stands there in all of it's glory and becomes a real focal point. These cakes are both incredibly beautiful and deserve to be given love and attention. Think about the backdrop too - the florals her create such a strong detail to the wedding design, and would be just perfect at your wedding venue.
