Hello you lovely lot, how's your week going? Today I'm sharing a blog post with some beautiful wedding venue inspiration for you all. My absolute favourite type of wedding venue is a beautiful stately home, as I feel they pair perfectly with my romantic and elegant wedding styling. So here are some of my favourites from across the UK...
Bradbourne House, Kent
Bradbourne House is one of those hidden gems that not enough people know about. It is in the heart of Kent with the bonus of being super close to London. I love this venue, as it is as beautiful outside as it is inside. The grounds are stunning, with the option to have the ceremony outside if the weather plays ball.
Inside you will be wowed by the gilt detailing, the huge old windows and doors, and the high ceilings throughout. The main ballroom is crammed full of pictures and portraits in huge gilt frames that work perfectly in the grand room. Personally, I would keep your wedding styling muted and understated, in order to showcase the venue for what it is. Avoid anything busy.
St Giles House, Dorset
The beauty of St Giles House in Dorset is that there are a lot of different spaces within this stunning building. It has recently been lovingly restored and now provides the perfect backdrop for a show-stop wedding. It also boasts beautiful grounds to capture those all-important outside shots at golden hour.
Wedding styling at St Giles House would provide so many options. You could keep the decor classic and understated in any of the beautiful stately rooms, or there is an option of a marquee if you want more of a blank canvas where you can really go to town on the styling. Oh, and there is also a speakeasy basement bar! Lots of options at this beautiful venue.
Hollywell Hall, Lincolnshire
I mean, wow! What a venue. Holywell Hall is just jaw-dropping inside and out. With a variety of options for your ceremony and reception, including an orangery or outside in the stunning gardens. This venue is every wedding stylist's dream wedding venue to style, as it is bright, light and has understated decor that would work with a variety of palettes.
This venue is crying out for lots of beautiful touches in your wedding styling, and it needs a luxurious look. Think lots of beautiful glassware, luxury linens, an abundance of flowers... Keep your styling timeless, romantic and charming and in tune with the stunning details within the venue, such as the chandeliers and beautiful bar.
Boconnoc House, Cornwall
Boconnoc House has so much to offer, as well as being a stunning venue set within acres of beautiful grounds, it can house up to 40 guests - which makes it the perfect choice for an exclusive wedding venue. The decor has a modern twist, but delicately so and actually works perfectly with the traditional building.
Boconnoc House is very grand, and doesn't need a huge amount of elaborate styling. I would suggest paying real attention to the details, rather than going crazy with lots of little bits that may get lost if not carefully thought through. If I was styling a wedding at Boconnoc, I would choose to focus on beautiful tablescapes and elegant detailing throughout.
Cornwell Manor, Cotswolds
Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a wedding weekend in The Cotswolds? Well you can do just that at Cornwell Manor. Set in the most stunning setting, Cornwell Manor provides a beautiful backdrop for a marquee wedding or if you have under 100 guests you can use the stunning ballroom for your wedding reception. Plus it has beautiful bedrooms for your guests.
I love the beautiful ballroom with really soft, elegant details and hung with rich tapestries. The clean lines allow for a variety of wedding styling options. Personally I'd keep to muted tones, lots of glassware and an abundance of flowers, but you could just as easily bring in some brighter colours for a more bold effect.
Hedsor House, Buckinghamshire
Hedsor House is another jaw-dropping stately home wedding venue and has the added bonus of being really close to London, which is great for your wedding guests. The building itself is Georgian and just stunning, but inside the decor is just perfect and has been so tastefully done with one of the most beautiful bridal suites I have ever seen.
The wedding styling needs to be fairly grand in this one. The venue has high ceilings, wooden panelling and huge windows, and so the decor needs to be grand enough to speak for itself and not get lost. When you have an exclusive use wedding venue like Hedsor, personally I would make a lot of use out of all the areas and create a real experience for your guests.
So there you have it, 6 of my favourite stately home / country house wedding venues across the UK. I have a lot more that I'll share with you another day, but for now I don't want to bombard you. Don't you just love their grandeur? They are my favourite type of venue as I just imagine all the tales to be told from the history of the buildings.
