If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I love flowers. I feature them heavily, love to have fresh flowers as much as possible and my favourite gift is a bouquet full of soft and pretty blooms. Now obviously this is pretty handy working in the wedding industry! Flowers are a big part of my wedding designs that I create for my brides and grooms…Read More
Hello my lovelies. This week I wanted to show you some inspiration. One of my favourite parts of the initial stages of working with brides & groom to be is creating moodboards for them. I love to gather inspiration to start the design process, and it's a great starting point to begin our vision for the styling of their wedding day…Read More
Happy new year, lovelies! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I wanted to write about my 2017, to show you all that went on for Vintage Amy last year, as it was my first year in business and rather a good one, if I do say so myself! So below is a round-up of some of the highlights of my year, from styled shoots to real weddings and beyond...Read More
For years now I've always gone down the traditional route of red & gold Christmas decor and whilst I am a traditional girl at heart, I fancied something a little different this year. Not drastically different - you won't catch me going all modern - but I've cut the red out of the Christmas tree, and it is mainly full of gold baubles, apart from one new special one that gave me the inspiration for my table...Read More
Hello lovelies, thanks for popping by. Last week you may have seen part 1 of the styled wedding shoot I designed and created back in the Summer that is in December's issue of Perfect Wedding magazine. I featured the tablescape I created, with the help of some other lovely wedding suppliers. If you didn't catch it, you can take a peek here. This week is the vintage dressing table that I styled up as a wedding dessert dresser, along with my unique take on a table plan, using vintage medicine bottles.Read More
I love vintage (obviously and phew, you say - it would be silly doing what I did if I didn't!) for many reasons - for its character, history, charm, stories behind the pieces, design details, and I just don't believe modern pieces are the same in quality and sophistication. But another reason I love vintage is that it means a lot of different things to different people...Read More
Hello again, lovelies. Thanks for popping by! In this week's post I'm giving you some styling tips that apply for weddings, interiors & home styling, and can generally be applied for all sorts of styling.
Take a peek below for my 8 tips, along with pics to show you what I mean, and let me know what you think...Read More
My last post showed you lots of my lovely, elegant vintage props I have available for you to hire for your wedding or event in Kent, Sussex or further afield if needed.
This week I wanted to show you some more of my items, more specifically china and tableware, and show you some ideas of pairing them together with other items to create beautiful, vintage tablescapes...Read More
My house is full to the brim of vintage bits & bobs, a lot being decor but mostly at the moment it is full of my hiring items! In the cupboards, on display, in my external storage unit, in the shed... you name it there is a place for my vintage treasures. When you do a job like mine you can't help but look out for treasure wherever you go. If I pop to the shops, I have a nose in a charity shop, if I'm going to a boot sale I keep my eyes peeled for vintage knick-knacks that will make perfect props. And if I'm away for a weekend or even visiting friends & families, I scout out the towns for pretty shops & cafes for vintage inspiration and possible purchases...Read More
I love a boot sale and would probably go to one every day if I could / had enough 20ps. You can find so many gems of all sorts - fruit & veg, plants, kids' toys, bacon butties... but obviously the reason for why I love them so much is for all the vintage treasures. Vintage prop/decor hunting is at its best at boot sales and I have found some of my favourite pieces at them.
Let me show you some of my pieces that I use in my wedding styling ...Read More
What better day to share with you my wedding photos than on my wedding anniversary!? Yep, happy 4 years to us, and time really does fly - I can't believe it, it only feels like 1-2 years ago! We had the most beautiful day, it was personal, romantic and fun - everything I believe a wedding should be. Our guests still talk about it, and what more can you ask for!? Looking through these photos for this post makes me feel so happy. I hope you'll get some inspiration from them for your big day, or just enjoy the pics!Read More
I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't leave your best in the cupboards to gather dust. Get those pretties out, use them and display them, and if you're anything like me, you'll love to use them for pretty pictures too!
As I have an array of vintage china at my home, some special bits of my own and items from my prop cupboard that I like to use when they're not being hired out, I love to have my tea & cake in/on them, and to use them as often as I can.Read More
As you know, I'm all for a neutral palette, or pretty pastels, for your wedding day. But here at Vintage Amy I'm not afraid to try something a little different to give all you bride-to-bes and vintage lovers some further inspiration for your wedding day, event or just for fun.
So a couple of months ago a wonderful team and I packed up our things to spend the day at Eridge Village Hall, where we were to transform the venue into a riot of colour with bold and fun looks for your big day, of course using my beloved vintage. I crafted a few little things for it too, and here you can see the results...Read More
As I mentioned in my last blog, where I showed you how I styled my Easter dinner table, I absolutely love styling tables. It's my favourite part of the styling set-up for weddings and I get totally lost in the moment when I'm doing them. Here are 7 of my recent favourite set-ups, all using vintage items of course...Read More
Controversial I know, but I think I prefer styling at Easter to styling at Christmas. I don't do quite as much to the house overall, but I just love the Easter colours, the flowers and the food that you can have alongside it! Plus my pretty vintage china collection complements it all perfectly.Read More
Following on from my last blog post, I thought I'd continue in the All About Me theme, as it's nice to get to know someone isn't it!? Most people ask me why I love vintage and why I use it in my job, so have a read on to find out just that and a little bit more...Read More
