I’m often asked why I do what I do. What was the reason you decided to become a wedding stylist? And what keeps you going? Why is it that you love what you do? Being a wedding designer and stylist seems glamorous. I get to see beautiful venues, play with stunning heirloom pieces and lovely flowers, sometimes even treated to sumptuous meals. So I thought today I would chat about what it is that keeps me going on the hard days when it’s nothing but admin, and why I decided to start The Timeless Stylist. Read on to hear more…Read More
Hello lovely people, I hope you are all having a good week. Today I am sharing a shoot I took part in back in May. It was with a group of incredibly talented, very lovely women, who I am lucky enough to be in this wedding industry with. We styled two different looks, and today I am sharing one of those looks for you. Read on to see lots of prettiness from what we created...Read More
Sometimes all you need is simple. When you have beautiful items on your table, such as stunning cut glass, carefully chosen linen, calligraphy menus and place cards, plus perfectly picked flowers, you don't need to over-complicate it. So this week I am sharing a table I styled with a summer dinner party in mind, although it would also be lovely for a more simple wedding. Let me show you what I created...Read More
Hello you lovely lot! It's been quite a while since I did a blog on my favourite table place settings, so this week I am doing just that! I have chosen 6 of my favourite table place settings that I have done over the last year, both for weddings and at home, and wrote a little bit about them here...Read More
Happy Valentine's! Or happy day before or day/s after Valentine's, depending on when you are reading this! I'm not a fan of going out for dinner for this day of love. It is often over-priced and you're crammed into a table right next to another couple, so we usually stay in…Read More
When you think about all of the components that you need to organise for your wedding, or more specifically the wedding styling, you can quite often forget the stationery and the importance of it. From wedding invitations, and all of the correspondence that come with them to create an invitation suite, to the on-the-day stationery, it's actually a really integral part to the whole aesthetic of your wedding styling that should not be an afterthought…Read More
Happy new year, lovelies! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I wanted to write about my 2017, to show you all that went on for Vintage Amy last year, as it was my first year in business and rather a good one, if I do say so myself! So below is a round-up of some of the highlights of my year, from styled shoots to real weddings and beyond...Read More
For years now I've always gone down the traditional route of red & gold Christmas decor and whilst I am a traditional girl at heart, I fancied something a little different this year. Not drastically different - you won't catch me going all modern - but I've cut the red out of the Christmas tree, and it is mainly full of gold baubles, apart from one new special one that gave me the inspiration for my table...Read More
In December’s Perfect Wedding magazine, I was lucky enough to have a double-page feature, showcasing a styled wedding shoot I worked on back in the summer. This shoot was designed to inspire readers to use vintage at their weddings in a fresh and modern way, and to provide some inspirational images for styling your wedding reception. Want to take a peek at more of the images? Here is the wedding table design I put together and next week will be the dessert dresser and table plan…Read More
I love vintage (obviously and phew, you say - it would be silly doing what I did if I didn't!) for many reasons - for its character, history, charm, stories behind the pieces, design details, and I just don't believe modern pieces are the same in quality and sophistication. But another reason I love vintage is that it means a lot of different things to different people...Read More
Hello again, lovelies. Thanks for popping by! In this week's post I'm giving you some styling tips that apply for weddings, interiors & home styling, and can generally be applied for all sorts of styling.

Hello again lovelies. Last week you saw the first part of my whimsical woodland vintage wedding at beautiful Longton Wood in Kent, where I shared with you the lovely wedding invites and some stunning bridal shots. This week I have the stunning wedding tablescape for you, adorned with vintage lace and gold details, the beautiful wedding cake, plus lots more prettiness, to share with you. All set amongst the bluebells, enjoy...Read More
I'm so excited to be sharing these pictures with you from a styled shoot I designed and styled back in April with a really lovely, and very talented, team. Set in the beautiful Longton Wood in Kent, I chose to use my darling vintage props and wedding decor in a unique setting, and show you how to use vintage and still get a very elegant, romantic and whimsical feel for your wedding day.
I absolutely loved creating this wedding inspiration shoot, and I hope you love it as much as me. This week I've included the pics showing you the beautiful invites and bridal scenes...Read More
My house is full to the brim of vintage bits & bobs, a lot being decor but mostly at the moment it is full of my hiring items! In the cupboards, on display, in my external storage unit, in the shed... you name it there is a place for my vintage treasures. When you do a job like mine you can't help but look out for treasure wherever you go. If I pop to the shops, I have a nose in a charity shop, if I'm going to a boot sale I keep my eyes peeled for vintage knick-knacks that will make perfect props. And if I'm away for a weekend or even visiting friends & families, I scout out the towns for pretty shops & cafes for vintage inspiration and possible purchases...Read More
I recently spent the weekend in Rye. I absolutely love this little town, and if you love historic places, beautiful old buildings and quaint little shops & restaurants, you need to pay a visit. For me, Rye sings out vintage. It makes me feel happy walking around the cobbled streets in my vintage dresses, especially if the sun is shining (we were lucky on that count!).Read More
What better day to share with you my wedding photos than on my wedding anniversary!? Yep, happy 4 years to us, and time really does fly - I can't believe it, it only feels like 1-2 years ago! We had the most beautiful day, it was personal, romantic and fun - everything I believe a wedding should be. Our guests still talk about it, and what more can you ask for!? Looking through these photos for this post makes me feel so happy. I hope you'll get some inspiration from them for your big day, or just enjoy the pics!Read More
I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't leave your best in the cupboards to gather dust. Get those pretties out, use them and display them, and if you're anything like me, you'll love to use them for pretty pictures too!
As I have an array of vintage china at my home, some special bits of my own and items from my prop cupboard that I like to use when they're not being hired out, I love to have my tea & cake in/on them, and to use them as often as I can.Read More
As you know, I'm all for a neutral palette, or pretty pastels, for your wedding day. But here at Vintage Amy I'm not afraid to try something a little different to give all you bride-to-bes and vintage lovers some further inspiration for your wedding day, event or just for fun.
So a couple of months ago a wonderful team and I packed up our things to spend the day at Eridge Village Hall, where we were to transform the venue into a riot of colour with bold and fun looks for your big day, of course using my beloved vintage. I crafted a few little things for it too, and here you can see the results...Read More
As I mentioned in my last blog, where I showed you how I styled my Easter dinner table, I absolutely love styling tables. It's my favourite part of the styling set-up for weddings and I get totally lost in the moment when I'm doing them. Here are 7 of my recent favourite set-ups, all using vintage items of course...Read More
